This panel advises us on public health policy and campaigns.
CIEH's advisory panels are set up across six key areas of work. Our Public Health Advisory Panel helps us to form our policy positions, advises us on consultation responses and submissions as well as feeding in a source of expertise and knowledge to our policy work and campaigns.
Mission Statement
To promote, advocate, and embed shared principles and opportunities between environmental health and public health to reduce the burden of disease and create healthier, more equitable, and sustainable societies.
Strategic objectives
- To promote, advocate, and embed shared principles and opportunities between environmental health and public health by strengthening relationships with key public health organisations, promoting joint initiatives, collaborating across CIEH’s advisory panels and advocating for Environmental Health perspectives in policy making across central, regional and local government.
- To raise the profile and visibility of Environmental Health by supporting public campaigns and working with stakeholders to advocate for the vital contributions Environmental Health makes to public health.
- To adopt evidence-informed approaches to illustrate and advocate for the economic and societal benefits of Environmental Health. This includes, where possible, embedding robust data collection and research into our activities, presenting qualitative and quantitative data, conducting research, and producing evidence-based reports. By demonstrating these benefits, we aim to advocate for greater investment, prioritisation and support for Environmental Health professionals within the multiple sectors and industries in which they operate.
