CIEH is a professional membership body dedicated to improving health and wellbeing. We are a registered charity established by Royal Charter, based in the UK, but operating globally. We also run one of the country's most sustainable venues, 15Hatfields. Most of our staff now work remotely across the UK, except our venue team who are based at 15Hatfields in London.
On behalf of our 7,500 members and the wider environmental health profession, we campaign and provide information and evidence on environmental health issues to the Government and other key decision-makers.

Voting in the 2026 CIEH Trustee election is now open. Five Trustee positions are available, and your vote helps shape the future direction, impact and success of CIEH.
Engaging with our elections is one of the most meaningful ways you can contribute as a member. Trustees play a vital role in guiding our strategy, strengthening our voice, and championing the profession. All member grades can vote, and every voice matters.
To cast your vote, simply enter your Unique Voter Code on the Mi-Voice Nomination Platform.

We are seeking to appoint four Committee Members to support our ongoing work championing professional standards and improving public health through environmental health practice.
We're looking for strategic leaders to contribute across our Resources Committee and Environmental Health Services Committee, providing oversight in areas including finance, digital innovation, membership, policy, research and professional standards.
About the roles
Resources Committee – 1 Vacancy
Supports the Board in overseeing CIEH's financial, commercial and digital strategy to ensure long-term sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Review financial, commercial and technology strategies
- Review annual business plans and budgets
- Monitor performance against plans and budgets
Who we’re seeking:
An experienced, strategic leader with expertise in:
- Business development and income generation
- Digital innovation and online learning
- Designing, scaling and monetising flexible learning solutions
The role is open to non-members of CIEH only.
Environmental Health Services Committee – 3 Vacancies
Oversees professional membership and qualifications, standards and ethics, membership services, policy, public affairs and research. Guided by the public interest, the Committee makes recommendations to the Board and monitors delivery.
We are recruiting:
- Academic in environmental health or related field (may or may not be a CIEH member; not a Board member)
- Membership Services Specialist (CIEH membership not required)
- Policy & Public Affairs Specialist (CIEH membership not required)
